After an arduous journey of over 30 hours traveling, the 2017 student delegation arrived in Grants Pass from Rubtsovsk at 11:00 PM Sunday evening. Not looking too worse for the wear, they were shuttled to their respective host homes for a bite to eat and a good but short night's rest. Not letting any grass grow under their feet, they were off again mid Monday morning for a brief orientation at Nancy's home, then on to a walking tour of Grants Pass. They enjoyed a demonstration of glass blowing at the Glass Forge, window shopping and a photo opportunity with the 'It's the Climate' sign in the background, and topped it off with lunch at the scenic Tap Rock restaurant. So Monday was an 'easing into Oregon life' day. Then off to Hidden Valley High School Tuesday - Thursday. Tuesday they shadowed other students and played games during the break. Wednesday they presented brief stories of their lives in Russia to the American students. (photos by Gisela Brune)
